Bio
"I've been redeemed, you can be redeemed." These opening lines to the new album "Redeemed" by New Covenant released on November 20, 2013, set the tone and the message for the entire album. The simplicity of the words and melody bring hope that anyone can come to Jesus. The music is for anyone and everyone in need of redemption while specifically targeting the youth of this generation.
New covenant began in January of 2013. Marcus Wilson was inspired by God to create a group with a mission to spread the message of salvation in a way that is relevant to this generation. Today, the group has grown to twelve members, each with a compelling testimony, and a passion to make a difference in the world. Why so many members? The goal is to make an impact in as many lives as possible, each member brings life experiences that the others don't have, and a style and personality that broadens their audience. Another strength that comes in numbers is flexibility and availability. Whether the need is to be in multiple locations at once or to fill in for a sick or injured singer, God has made it so that they are always ready to do His will. Brittany Henry says, "Being a part of New Covenant has affected my life tremendously. I love the opportunity to write lyrics about my life experiences, knowing that it might help someone who is in a similar situation. New covenant is like a big family. It gives me strength to know that I can turn to my family for support when I'm going through a hard time."
April of 2013, New Covenant had an incredible opportunity to travel on a missions trip to Europe. They toured through Romania, Moldova and the Ukraine. With daily and nightly concerts both out on the streets and in churches, hundreds were drawn and impacted by the music. Though not your typical vacation, the trip refreshed the group and re-ignited their vision and calling to change the world for Jesus.
This year on February 15-25, New Covenant will be doing it again; but this time in Bangkok, Thailand. Pray that New Covenant will impart and impact the nation of Thailand with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that it's youth will be radically transformed.
