Testimony -
My name is Marcus Wilson, I was born and raised in San Diego, California as well as the Potters House Christian fellowship which has been home to my family and I for over 26 years. I have now been serving God  for close to 4 years and God has been doing powerful things in my life from the day I gave my life to Him. It is a privilege to serve God and also to be able to be apart of a fellowship as genuine as the Potters House Christian Fellowship. Before I go any further I would like to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for my salvation and my Pastor Joe Rice and his wife Heather for all of their support and prayers. Even though I am washed in the blood and in my right mind, things were not always that way. So if you could give me just a few moments of your time I would like to share my testimony with you, which is a true story and a explanation of how Christ saved my life.

Growing up I had a true passion and a desire for the game of basketball. It was my dream to one day play in the NBA. As well as my athletic aspirations at a very young age I also had a passion to serve God. Shortly after I was born my mother and father dedicated me to God in a regularly scheduled church service. This is a Christian custom that signifies a child's life being fully devoted and dedicated to Jesus Christ. So at a very young age my destiny for Gods plan was being formed, but at the same time I was being attacked by onslaught from hell that manifested itself very early. At the age of 7 I was introduced to a number of wicked and illicit sexual content from friends at school and even kids in the neighborhood. I was introduced to drugs and alcohol around the age of  9 and very quickly began to indulge in sinful desires. I grew up on Kelly Street in Linda Vista where one of my best friends relatives was shot and killed in the street. Later on one of my very good friends was killed by a number of bullet wounds to the chest and back just blocks away from where I lived. With a number of devastating events in my life and a lukewarm spirit towards the gospel, my faith began to grow cold and it eventually died.

In the spring of 2006 at the age of 17 years old I ran away from home. In my mind it was a journey of enlightenment and freedom. My basketball career had been shattered through disappointments and letdowns, my relationship and heart towards God was flat lined, and this was my opportunity to emancipate my self from all that hindered me to live a free life. I felt I was doing the church that I belonged to a service by leaving instead of sitting through hundreds of sermons and church events and not really living the life that I was claiming to live. From day one my life in the world began to destroy me. I was homeless, but I would find places to sleep every night through close friends and acquaintances that would take me in. I partied every night and continued to find a way to satisfied my lustful and sinful desires which began to tare apart my character, appearance, and dignity. This went on for almost two years.  My life quickly became a wreck and even those who were involved in sin with me began to notice it.

In December of 2007 I found myself on a bathroom floor, crying and at the most desperate point of my life I have ever been. I didn't even fully understand everything I had gotten myself into but I knew that I was hurting and that I needed God. As I was in a fetal posture I cried out to Jesus Christ and asked  Him to give me a brand new start and save me from my sin, and HE did just that! In December of 2007 I gave my life to Jesus Christ and I have been saved ever since. God has been doing so much in my life even restoring the things that I had broken. For basketball God has allowed me to build relationships through the sport I loved so much with new converts and the brethren from the church as we go out on Sunday nights and play basketball as a fellowship. God has restored my ability to minister in the church as HE has given my family and I a wonderful bible study where we have seen over 50 salvations and decisions for Jesus Christ. I am also involved in a group named New Covenant who has ministered through song across San Diego County and has also just released their first mix-tape which has been a blessing to the church as well as a powerful way to encourage the lost to make the decision to serve Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has restored my heart for the things of God and for HIS precious word and HE has truly given me a brand new start. God has also restored my finances by giving me a stable job and the ability to invest. In February of 2012 I will be marrying my beautiful fiancé Danielle Greene who is also tangible evidence of God's redemption in my life. My God is an awesome God and HE has saved me from a Devil's hell and given my an amazing relationship with His Son Jesus Christ. If you are reading this and are in any kind of doubt of who God is... I want to take this opportunity to tell you that His mercies endure forever and no matter what situation you are in He is mighty to save you and restore your life. If you would just say a simple prayer, and say " Jesus I believe in you, I repent from my sin, and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour," Then your whole life can be restored and exactly what happened for me in December of 2007 can happen for you. Thank you for your time and God bless.
